We had an outstanding trip. Our crew could not have been better. James was technically an exceptional captain and we always felt safe. Prior to the trip he was very accessible which made us feel more comfortable. As the cruise continued I think we got to know him personally and had some very meaningful evening discussions.
The fact that i love inverse so much is because the diversity in personality among this group of brothers and sisters. No matter what past or present we lived through or live in we can contribute to each other, learn from each other and come to together to worship our God. Im thankful for each person in Inverse both people that i know and people that i dont know because one way or another if it is Gods will sooner or later we will have a chance to meet. I also love Inverse because I believe God is using Rand to truly preach the right gospel, through that not only myself but others has come to light and really see that the gospel isnt that complicated. Know that nothing you can do can bring salvation, only through the blood of Christ is it possible, live for Christ because our lives were not ours to begin with. =)
I am a Nasung baby with all of my family (immediate, distant, and in-law) as regular members. In the first year of Inverse, God taught me that church is not about having a strong family presence nor influence in a specific community. Rather it is about adapting God’s heart in continuously embracing new members into His great family. It has been a great joy being humbled with this mindset and an additional blessing getting to know different siblings in the family of God.
James, his wife Vanessa, and chef Jessica made this trip very special. The team made sure that everyone was well looked after, comfortable, well fed and always happy about everything, whether it be excursions to shore, restaurant choices, activities (scuba diving, snorkeling or just hanging out) or sharing their knowledge about the region. The food Jess (don’t miss her amazing French toast) prepared was wonderful. Cocktails were great (Jess went to great lengths to find a drink that matched our perfect idea of a tropical fruit mix — ask for a Hummingbird!) and the sailing was fun. Whatever we seemed to want the crew was excited to make happen.
After accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior, the one thing I desired most was to please God but I realized how little I knew of Him. It was the solid Biblical teaching, and the community of believers at Inverse that really allowed me to see what it looks like to live life for Christ. People from diverse walks of life lovingly made themselves available to speak into my life encouraging me to pursue Jesus. There is great energy here at inverse, and I am growing in knowledge of who I am, who we are as Christians, and above all: who God is.
It is what I would call a solid 4.5 star experience. In other words, I give it a 9 out of 10.
